I have to confess to taking Ossie to Black Park on a couple of occasions recently This is for no other reason than he can swim in the lake at black park when he cannot swim in the Langley lake due to concerns over the water! I am not sure if these concerns are founded or not.
Anyway the plusses of Black park are that it is bigger and Ossie has some new routes to explore. the lake is crystal clear and at this time of year it is mainly dry elsewhere. In the autumn thorugh to spring I would rarely use it as the ditches and ponds are smelly and horrible.
Langley Park is better because it is less densely populated by trees and LP trees are more varied in type. There are more open spaces i.e. top field, vista, george green fields and it feels more open and green.
Sorry for typos. Should have got Tansie to proof read it before posting. I also forgot to add that the animal and birdlife seems to be more varied and prolific at Langley Park,.... or am I biased?
I would have to say that I prefer Langley Park, although Black Park does have its good points - the smell of the pine woods after the rain its fantastic ....... but being within two minutes walking distance of Langley Park I can be in the Park long before the gates open and have it all to myself practically.... heaven. You can almost always guarantee to see something in the way of wildlife in Langley Park and I love it.... the peace and tranquility is second to none.
